Hey,

If you want the ultimate trick, hack or secret for excelling in fully commission sales, it’s this….be a giver.

Yes, you’ve heard before about how you need to give value to all of your prospects without expecting anything in return. And, yes, being a giver that way is vital.

But that’s not the type of giving I’m talking about.

The ultimate hack is to give money away.

Whether you realize it or not, your full commission sales role is a full-faith endeavor. You pick up the phone every day and literally try and create something out of nothing. You bring something into existence that didn’t previously exist.

Here is my firm belief. Money is supernatural. It follows the order of the universe, which often is counter to my natural way of doing things. My logic says that I should give money away only after I have earned it and only if there is a surplus. God (or spirit, the universe or whatever word you want to use) says take a leap of faith first. Give money away now, before you have a surplus. Then the surplus will come.

I can attest to the truth of this in my life. My first two years in sales I was a trainee earning a small salary. Then the salary went away and I became full commission. Six months into it and I had earned only $12,000. This was less than my meager salary. I was crushed.

Then someone challenged me to first give money away as an act of faith. I took a leap and tried it. Honestly, it was painful and scary. But my wife and I did it.

I finished that year surpassing my goal and earning rookie-of-the-year at my company.

We continued to give and God continued to outgive us. Every single year.

So, if you want to put yourself in the flow of receiving money, learn to be a giver first.
